In addition to hosting the giants of the FinTech world, the festival will be graced by appearances from many notable speakers such as Justin Trudeau (Prime Minister of Canada), Christine Lagarde (Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund) and Narendra Modi (Prime Minister of India) to name a few.

Katipult is honored to have been included into this year’s lineup, exhibiting both as an awards finalist in the festivals Expo and in the Canada Fintech Pavilion as one of Canada’s representatives at the festival.

Two events that Katipult’s team is particularly excited about are the 2018 Fintech Awards where Katipult is one of the finalists as well as the Canada Fintech Forum that will happen as a part of the festival and will feature speakers covering a variety of topics. This year 40 finalists will be contesting for the FinTech Awards, including finalists who were shortlisted by a panel of industry judges from 210 submissions and the nine winners from the ASEAN PitchFest. The finalists represent a cross-section of the growing FinTech community, including organizations from insurance, digital payments, and cybersecurity. Katipult has earned a spot among the finalists thanks to Katipult’s investment platform allowing financial institutions to implement digital processes and do away with the inefficient practices that still plague many organizations.

Our CEO, Brock Murray, commented on Katipult being one of the FinTech awards finalists: “Our team is excited to have been recognized for the work we’ve done in enabling financial institutions to solve of problems through innovative technological solutions. We believe that by making investing and fundraising process simpler we can fundamentally transform the way investing is done. Getting the opportunity to be recognized on a stage as large as the SFF is certainly a sign that we’re moving in the right direction.”

In addition to the exhibiting organizations, the expo will also host the 16 international pavilions. Apart from participating in the expo as an awards finalist, Katipult will also be a part of the Canadian pavilion as one of the representatives of Canadian organizations at the event. One of the events hosted by the Canada pavilion is the Canada FinTech Forum. The event is meant to provide a platform for Canadian businesses to share their views on some of the festival’s themes. Our CEO, Brock Murray, will be one of the Canada FinTech Forum speakers, covering current opportunities in investment & security. In addition to this, it’s expected that, as a part of his visit to Singapore, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will make an appearance and address the event’s participants.  In Singapore, Prime Minister Trudeau will attend events on the margins of the 33rd Summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and meet with other world leaders, including Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and President Halimah Yacob of Singapore.
