Each Katipult platform can be customized to your brand’s look and feel. Your company logo, imagery and icons, fonts, colours and favicons can be changed. If you do not have access to a professional design team, our creative team will assist to establish basic brand guidelines such as colours.
If you have a design team that you would like to engage for design services our User Experience (UX) design team can provide the direction required including the product specifications and also the limitations. Your team may host and manage the marketing pages of your platform independently to allow for control and flexibility of ongoing changes. Our team can also collaborate with a 3rd party design team to modify the marketing section of the platform directly.
Every new deployment of Katipult comes standard with Google Analytics. This data provides an in depth overview of system usage and can be customized to your requirements. We also have user-specific analytics within the platform that track all user behaviour in granular detail including page-views, document loads, clicks, etc so you can understand your audience. Automated emails are aligned with various user actions to ensure a timely touch point. Inherent within the Katipult product are also all metrics related to platform activity including investment amounts, capital raised, repayment amounts and dates, etc.
We work with clients to gather feedback which along with our internal audits, drive added functionality and optimizations. As a part of the Katipult client community, your platform will enjoy the benefits of an always evolving platform. Upgrades include User Experience (UX) upgrades, process optimizations, functional upgrades to the platform, new features and technical improvements such as browser compatibility upgrades.
With many different types of organizations operating worldwide using the Katipult platform, it is inevitable that some have different needs that are either not a part of the current platform or need to be customized to meet their specific needs. This feedback cycle provides an unparalleled ecosystem for iterative development.
Our iterative process involves regular meetings with stakeholders. This is important because we can monitor industry trends, foresee any major issues. By connecting with end-users in the early planning stages we can reduce wasted development hours and increase the value of the software. We try to avoid incorrect assumptions as early as possible.
We approach product enhancements with a minimal viable product mindset to build releases that include only the minimal number of features as to be valuable to end users. We then have clients evaluate the software so we can make changes as necessary and ensure that we are headed in the right direction with our development process.
As a result of our system infrastructure there is no interruption to your system, and upgrades would only take place upon approval from your organization to ensure you maintain full control.
Upgrades are developed and hosted on what is called a Development Server. A Development server is essentially a replica system acting as a construction zone that is only accessible to developers and authorized staff within your organization. Any development changes or additions are then rigorously tested on a Staging Server in a test environment so that updates to the live software are seamless for all users.
Our three-tier client server setup provides a path to implement, test, and approve new features on a client by client level. Your Development Server is the latest version of your system where we test operations on the platform with test content to simulate capital raises.
We use software that categorizes and sorts incoming support requests. Support requests are categorized and triaged by our team to determine which fixes have priority. Clients will be provided all the appropriate contact information regarding their software support.
We have engaged Amazon Web Services as a service provider for Katipult. We use a variety of their services including Elastic Beanstalk, EC2 and S3. These services are regarded as some of the best in the world. Because AWS is a completely scalable solution, we have the ability to allocate system resources depending on your needs. If you experience rapid growth your server will automatically scale without any downtime. AWS provides monitoring services so that the Katipult team is available if there are any issues with the technology.
No. Katipult is built on a proprietary software framework. While open-source frameworks such as WordPress may be OK for a basic marketing website or blog, they are not suitable for a sophisticated software product.
Yes. Once your platform is set up your team will be completely self-sufficient. Katipult includes all the modules for each user type including Investors, Issuers, Administrators, Auditors, among others. The automated and manual permission settings further control the abilities of each of these users.
Yes, Katipult is equipped with a content management system that allows Administrators the ability to manipulate content on the platform. There is no limit to the number of investors or investment offerings. Katipult is a robust software product and is built for scalability and reliability with high activity levels.
Katipult aggregates many inputs on the platform that can be used in conjunction with third party applications. Currently, the ability to export data in a .csv format enables you to plug data into applications that complement the Katipult platform. We also have a Katipult API that allows client the ability to pull information from their platform into other applications managed independently of Katipult.
Katipult can be integrate with any 3rd party software product that has an API and API documentation. We are integrated with a number of 3rd party systems in various markets but those that are universal to all markets (excluding payment processing) are:
Katipult provides you with the opportunity to choose which payment gateway you would want to have implemented within your platform. We work with a variety of payment processors and provide the ability to customize which payment gateway your platform would like to use. Katipult is not responsible for the transfer of funds, as the platform redirects to the payment gateway that has been chosen for the actual transaction.
Katipult never stores user's financial information. We leave this PCI compliant task to our payment gateway providers. Although we can have a custom module created to work with any payment gateway provider, our technology team evaluates the security levels of the payment gateway before integrating it to ensure that the highest level of security is maintained.
In addition to the above security measures, we ensure that our backups are stored in a secure environment never travelling across unsecured network. This ensures that Katipult data is not subject to a man in the middle (MIIM) attack. We use several best practices methods including but not limited to salted passwords and proper database communication methods to block SQL injection.
People invest in an opportunity in exchange for equity. Money is exchanged for shares, or stakes in the business, project, or venture. Returns are financial, yet risk is inherent. The investor is either looking to make a return from dividends or capital gains on the growth in value of their stake in the company. Investors can browse and screen equity investments, view details of an investment and sign legal documents online.
It depends. Every country has unique rules and regulations governing the activities surrounding “crowd funded” equity investments. Some countries such as the UK and US are already active in this marketplace while others i.e., Australia are awaiting more clarity on the rules. Firms targeting accredited investors rather than unaccredited investors can benefit from all the efficiencies from a Katipult platform without exposing themselves to the conflicts of marketing investments to unaccredited investors. Prior to launching your platform ensure you have received the appropriate legal direction from your lawyers.
Katipult has a built-in accreditation process to vet investors for the appropriate compliance requirements. In addition to the verification aspect, the system assists in the creation of investor profiles, and collects information for “Know your Client Suitability” such as investment preferences and risk adversity.
Yes. Restricting your platform to specific investment types would be at your discretion. To ensure your equity platform has a lot of flexibility surrounding deal structures and your internal processes, our software enables online document execution via secure e-signature and online payment transactions.

The industry experience and professional network of your management team will play a key role in the deal flow of your platform, and Katipult will support these efforts by improving your business across a number of areas:

Returns are financial, yet risk is inherent. Investors can browse and screen real estate investments, view details of the property and sign legal documents online to finalize their commitment.
Property crowdfunding is the common term for Real Estate Crowdfunding in the UK.
The main difference is the structure and presentation of the investment opportunities. Our real estate platform will allow you to market institutional quality real estate investment opportunities on a secure, and easy-to-use platform. You can launch a private (accredited investors only) or public platform (accredited and unaccredited investors) for investors to access, review, and invest in equity purchases and traditional direct investments. Equity purchases might include multifamily, retail, office, industrial, and land opportunities, and traditional direct investments include residential and commercial opportunities.
